I'm making an angry face at the moment, scowling at the computer. I was very angry today. Since no one called me or even emailed me about the postponed basketball game, so naturally I went to school and no one was in the FAC. Then i saw that we had practice later at 3, which really ticked me off, because we never practice on Saturdays and it was right in the middle of hte Uconn vs. Tennesee game, and I always watch that game- every year!! major grrr.... now I might not be able to go to Dorcas, or if I do, I can't stay for very long because basketball wasted three hours of my homework time today and I still have to read four chapters for history. homework time now...

Mary, I forgot to tell you another China story involving my father. Well, we were climbing the Great Wall and my father was winning the race to the end, the place where the ruins start. When he reached the last place, he looked around for a while and then he decided he was bored waiting for us so he started to look around the little tower where the renovations for the wall stopped. There was a box in one corner of the tower that said Guide for Users. Of course, my father was curious to see what it said so he pressed the white button beneath the letters. By then the rest of the fam had caught up with him and we were taking pictures of the hazy scenery. When we heard NeeHao and some other Chinese words coming from the machine, we all looked at Ryan because he was the only who would understand what the voice was saying. "Oh my God, what did you do?!" my mother was incredulous. She started to yell at him to stop touching things because on the other side of the machine were the letters SOS and if you need help, press the button. Ryan translated that help was on the way. Fifteen minutes later, we see these four Chinese guys in military uniform hurrying towards our tower. WE decided that if they asked any questions my father would have to answer them. So we started away from the tower and back down the wall. When we passed the military guys wer realized they were carrying cameras and throwing snow balls at each other. No other emergnecy people came up the mountain so I wondered how effective the machine was. Oh well. My father was saved from trouble. I thought you would enjoy that story

I'm back, but I am very tired as I did not sleep at all on the airplane --> stupid crying babies.. but for once i don't have any plans except to finish my homework and hang up my new scrolls and find a place for my stuffed panda, named Mr. Jo Kung Pao, to sit..

Jenn: Kung pao is an amazing word!! put more emphasis on the pow ; it's a type of spicy chicken and will definitely be used in our fun-words-to-say dictionary..

highlight of the trip: we conquered the great wall even though i am terrified of heights, but i did it and i have pictures to prove it.. another highlight was that i almost died six times in different taxi cabs ( if you ever go to China, you have to use the taxis; the drivers are crazy!! they were driving on the wrong side of hte road, cutting each other off, general craziness).. i have many stories to tell; oh, mary, remind me to tell you the story of my father and the subway, it is a good one

i gotta hit the sack and maybe take a shower; personal hygiene has been put on hold forthe last three days so I am very gross at the moment... smell ya later and hope you all had a good chirstmas and new years

Day 4 of vaca. (day 3 wasn't very interesting) : mother was angry with me --> I didn't pack quick enough and she is provoked by anxiety from pre- vacation stress; she's not very nice at the moment. bought more things for trip such as mini locks so little shifty chinese men can't steal anything from us... yesterday my father was quite the little child, after he tried to hand a blank envelope in the collection basket at churhc because he lost my $20, but then he decided to be generous and put 50 in, but then when we went out to the car, he found the 20 underneath the tire (the story is funnier if i tell it to you)
saw noonan at the mall; i wonder if she thinks my brother is a boyfriend; that's interesting... also talked briefly to the bashevkin at barnes & nobles, she was very nice but i think i might have said merry christmas instead of happy holidays --> oops
Day 5 ( a prediction): a long plane ride

love ya everybody

As my creative mode has passed( I think listening to Disney's song inspired my creative mode), perhaps I shall share ( diction error) some of the new APCS terminology, according to what I think

1). APCS: (n.) 1. stands for Advanced blah blah blah blah
2. stands for Assassinate Personal ComputerS

2). bugs: (n.) 1. program errors
2. eight- legged things growing in Mary's keyboard

3). Virgin Mary : (n) 1. Mother of Jesus
2. only one who can eat food in the Mac lab

4). Jonathan Ives: computer designer for Mac; designed the iPod; stalked by one Kelly Keenan; member of ?Cyber Elite

5). Colin Sweet: student at RPI; wearer of tight orange vests; discovered the element sweetium and named it after his future daughter, Candy Sweet

At the moment, I am eating pie, chocolate pie; yummy!!
Yesterday, I had like the most excercise ever.. me and my fam went to NYC, because my sister needed to do an extra credit project which included going to the Met for her art class.. After we walked around the Met for a while and Meghan analyzed all of the paintings and sculpture for Caitlin, we decided to go and eat, because it had been many hours since breakfast and Meg's bag of mints just wasn't doing the trick.. so we left the Met and walked along Central Park and we kept going and going and going... should I add that we also to pick up Ryan from the airport in two hours when we left the Met; so finally we stopped at the Rockefeller Center for lunch, which is about thirty blocks from the Met.. as you can tell, it was quite a walk.. I was sad because we had passed F A O Schwartz, but my father refused to stop walking... so after we finished eating lunch in Rockefeller we decided to take the subway back to the Met where our car was so the way back we only had to walk six blocks compared to the thirty before... and as soon as we clambered (good substitution for 'got') into the car, we realized that ryan's plane was landing and we still had to get all the way across Manhattan to JFK.. so we were an hour and a half late for ryan, who didn't really care that we were late because we brought him homemade pie so he was happy... then we had to cross back over manhattan to get to hoboken, nj to visit my otehr brother, Kevin, and his friend... so we went out to eat with them, listened to some of ryan's stories, made a list for what we need to bring to china, and made fun of caitlin because she was playing with her food
It was a very trying day and my feet were rather tired after walking another ten blocks to dinner and back... it was quite intense, but it made my overall vacation less boring; now i have to finish my lantern poem.. good luck to me; that's what the pie is for

My grandmother died last night, shortly after we left the hospital. I didn't really know her that well because she came from the laconic side of the family.. she didn't look all that great last night but she was in a coma, so how else was she going to look? And parkinson's (however you spell that one) had damaged her brain so she did not recognize any of us anyways.. But she was the one who was always slow to leave, taking her time until she was ready. I guess she was ready for it this time....

It made all the better considering I'm very tired ( having to stay up late to design the ultimate shifty/ sketchy costume) and trying to recreate the Hamburglar picture I drew for Jackie.
I'm sad. Well, actually I was very depressed an hour ago, but then someone partially cheered me up.. well, i'm doing terribly at Westover and as soon as my mother finds out how bad, I'm screwed and that might be the end of Westover for me, she's stil regretting what happened to meghan... anyways, after i found out that passed my Algebra quiz by one point, I had to take a spanish quiz where i screwed up several verbs.. even though i'm trying my hardest in chem, ms. burbank left forty five minutes before she said she would, so I haven't handed in my chem lab yet so I'll have like major points taken off for that... English made me happy again, especially when Mr.hungerford raced us to the dining hall.. my ankle has swelled up again because I shouldn't have practiced soccer on it and the Don't Worry song is not even making me happy again and that song always makes me happy!! i'm going to have to break out the Disney mix to save myself.. The one person who cheered me up was Ann Derrick because she was talking to me while I was in the mac lab and she wouldn't let me leave so I had to crawl under the table things, which is actually sort of a tight squeeze.. that made me happy again... So this is for all the people who are depressed, thanks to Westover's lovely academic schedule:
(Whistling noises) Here's a little song I wrote, you might want to sing it note for note, Don't worry, be happy.. In every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double, Don't worry, be happy {don't worry, be happy now} Ain't got no place to lay your head, somebody came and took your bed, Don't Worry, Be happy, the landlord said your rent is late, he may have to lock the gate(don't worry, be happy)look at me, i'm happy, I'll give you my phone number, when you worry, call me and I;ll make you happy,..... when you worry, your face will frown and that will bring everybody down, don't worry, be happy now.. Don't worry be happy, now listen to what I say.. in your life expect some trouble, when you worry you'll make it double, BBEEEe, be happy now.. don't worry, don't do it, you'll bring everybody down.. be happy...
if you are ever depressed, reply and tell me and I'll send you a little something to cheer you up

Here's a quiz that my brother wants me to take on Anna Karenina; this just goes to show how crazy my family is (its really long, so just skim); he claims that if you can answer these questions, you will get into any college that you want.. of course it helpsif you've read Anna Karenina :
1.) Describe the affect of influences in Levin's life
in response to two specific dramatic events, Kitty's
refusal of marriage, and his brothers death. Describe
the evolution of his thought process in relation to
these to events and how his own thought process
developed.
2.) Describe the political ideologies in the book as
they related to events at the time of Tolstoy's
writing. Also expound on the accuracy of Tolstoy's
own prediction as to the future of Russian politics
and society.
3.) Compare the traditions and fluctuations in
Russian society as opposed to English society as shown
in literature at the time such as Dickens and Jane
Austen. In particular consider such influences as the
English industrial revolution, Russia's serf and their
eventual emancipation under Alenxander II, the effect
of the Napoleonic Wars on both societies, and the
affect of the two disparate political structures on
how the social hierarchy was established.
4.) Given Anna Karenina's rise and fall in Russian
society, compare or contrast this background of
Russian moral values against modern arguments for
specific moral standards since the 1960's. Use
specific literary arguments. Comment on whether you
think the moral reasoning throughout AK is consistent
or not and why.
5.) One specific theme on Tolstoy's writing is the
idea of redemption through labor and exertion, both
physical and mental. Contrast this phenomenon within
his work between the applicability of this practice
between men and women. Comment on whether this was
such an option for Russian women at the time.
6.) Explain your plan to tote Caitlin, Dad, and Kevin
through a country where you do not understand the
language and may be needed to provide communication
and leadership. Give specific examples of possible
problems and solutions to them. Also provide a plan
of action as to moving them around in a foreign
country without causing harm or legal rammifications.
7.) Upon completion of War and Peace you will be
asked to compare the two books, both in terms of
Tolstoy's views on life in each and how they varied
and also how specific social phenomenoms affected
russian society.
8.) War and Peace was a book based on the influence
of outside forces unrelated to Russia. Anna Karenina
was a book based on the influence of ideas and
traditions completely inherent to Russian society.
Debate the validity of this argument.
6.)
Out for Kimi's Nemo

I was so happy today when Addie let me hold Kimmi's Nemo for the entire history class ( I love stuffed animals).. they make me happy.. I wish I could have Kimmi's Nemo, but I don't think I'll try and steal it from her; that would be mean... I don't want to play soccer today; I'm very tired and falling asleep but enough of me complaining... during WISE I talked to dayna about gooey things, and gooey, warm chocolate chip cookies came up.. i'm like drooling now, so i hope they have cookies for lunch or else i will be very disappointed.. maybe i'll cry and then have to do mary's algebra jig to cheer myself up... alas, I must go so that i can take a sneak peek of the sequel of the upcoming Kohato story that an anonymous person is furiously typing an pouring out her soul to and to her lost love, and the saga goes on...
